Holistic Approach

Clinical hypnotherapy focused on practical, honest change.
Ian’s interest in hypnotherapy began just before the turn of the millennium, during a particularly stressful period in his professional life. Struggling to cope, he spoke with a couple of friends who shared how hypnotherapy had helped them with their own challenges. Although initially sceptical, Ian decided to try a four-week self-hypnosis course to manage his stress.
That short course proved to be a turning point. Encouraged by the positive impact, he continued his training and enrolled in a Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis, determined to become a qualified hypnotherapist. In middle age, Ian had discovered something that felt truly meaningful—and something he appeared to have a natural talent for. It was the first time he felt fully engaged and deeply fulfilled by his work.
After completing his practitioner training, Ian went on to attain a Postgraduate Diploma. Along the way, he attended numerous masterclasses across various branches of hypnotherapy. His dedication and passion eventually led him to become a student supervisor and trainer at the London College of Clinical Hypnosis. He is also a full member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis.
He also volunteered his time as a therapist with the Phobics Society, helping individuals overcome intense fears. Ian remains continually inspired by the profound changes that can occur through hypnotherapy. Whether it’s relieving pain from cancer treatment, quitting smoking, or overcoming a lifelong phobia—sometimes in just one or two sessions—he has witnessed transformations that continue to astonish him.
That said, Ian is always honest about the process. While hypnotherapy can be highly effective, it doesn’t work the same way for everyone. If a client sees no meaningful change after a session or two, he encourages them to try a different approach or another therapist—because the goal is always the client’s wellbeing and progress.
In addition to his work in hypnotherapy, Ian is a passionate martial artist. He began training in Shotokan Karate in 1974 and, as a black-belt instructor (Sensei), has spent many years sharing his knowledge with both adults and children. Ian also practices Tai Chi, further deepening his connection to mind-body disciplines.
